hope you all had another great week. I most certainly did. The long awaited, much anticipated opening of Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar finally happened and it was and is spectacular. It was well worth the wait. Olivia Palermo opened it at 12.30 pm on Wednesday 7th November, along with Danielle Lloyd and other WAGS.
I am doing this post in two halves This half, explaining the BB services as well as the overall experience.
So i got there for ten past one, sadly i missed Olivia Palermo but hey! i was more excited about having brand new NARS and Shu Uemura counters in Liverpool at long last.
There was the black carpet, celebrities, and even doormen in black suits. Feeling somewhat like i was in a scene of Sex and The City, I was waiting for them to ask me if i was on the list. Instead, i was given a love thyself tote bag for being one of the first 1000 customers, not bad. The free glasses of bubbly were at Creme de la Mer! Shame.
What does the store have to offer? The ground floor is slightly jam packed with NARS, Bobbi Brown, YSL, Laura Mercier, Origins, Creme de la Mer, Shiseido, Sisley, Bare Minerals, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Dermalogica, Bliss, Shu Uemura, Jo Malone, Clinique and yes; i have forgotten some but there were many more. Taking larger floor space were CHANEL, Tom Ford and MAC. No Dior!! Which surprises me a bit. Not sure if i would like to go in there on a Saturday, it will be elbows everywhere, mid week for me i think.
The first floor has Origins, Aveda, ESPA, Electric Hair Studio, Champagne Nail Bar, Beauty MART, Blink Eyebrow Bar, Pedicure complete with headphones and screens for you to shop while you relax, WOW Champagne and Cocktail Bar, GHD, Carita and Organic Pharmacy, Blink Fairy for semi-permanent eye lashes, Skin Bar for facial treatments.
The second floor consists of Teeth whitening, Karidis Medispa for body contouring, Botox treatments and many other non-surgical treatments with Alex Karidis .Waxing Bar, James Read Tanning Studio, and also many more. What is surprising, is that many of the treatments are very affordable as well.
Exclusive to BB, Liverpool is the Shu Uemura Swarovski Crystal personalised lashes, how fab! Butter have a nail polish named Scouse and there is also a set of crystal rollers for sale to, which should please many a scouse lass indeed!!!
The Beauty MART sells the best of a companies product. Whether that is high end or high street. Its quite a cute little section with many different products from Bourjois to Pears soap and Japonaise Safari makeup brushes, great stuff.
The WOW Champagne and Cocktail Bar screams Patsy and Eddie (for those that know). Its super sparkly and even boasts two beauty themed cocktails. I never got a chance to go in but will be very soon 🙂
So Why did Harvey Nichols decide to drop the BB anchor in Liverpool? The decision was based on research which showed that Liverpool was the second most lucrative beauty market outside London and we spend 4 times the national average on beauty products. Daniella Rinaldi, the retailers Beauty Director said ‘Girls in Liverpool have single handedly held the banner for glamour’.
Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar does feel super glam. Every WAG wannabe/lover of pampering, is going to feel right at home here. The thing is, BB is not a store where you are going to do the quick in and out, oh no. Harvey Nichols have found their niche here because they are selling you an experience.
Your more likely going to have a look around, purchase a couple of beauty items, then decide on a treatment, before finally relaxing with a cocktail or two. I spent three hours in the store today without reaching the third floor or WOW. It is a great idea and is here to stay, yippee!!
Chocolate body waxing anyone?!
If your in Liverpool at any point, head to New Manesty’s Road for a look at how fab this store is. how spoilt for choice we scouse lasses are and how you will be to.
Have a great weekend everyone and any questions, ask away. Make sure you pop back for the second installment about Harvey Nichols BB featuring my treatment and beauty buys. Take care 😉
