Time to review the products i bought from the Chanel Mediterranée Summer collection 2015. I like to use them a bit first before i give them a full review.
I swatched everything in store and decided on three items that i believe were ‘musts’ for my collection and passed on some that i knew i didn’t need. I also gave the centre piece of the collection; the camelia bronzing highlighter. a miss too. Reason for this is; Chanel are about to release Les Beiges for Summer in another 3 weeks and i want the bronzer number 25 instead. I love Les Beiges powders.
Anyway, on with what i did buy.
A beautiful teal-ish blue nail colour but far more classy and not garish. Bang on trend for this summer and because it is LE, i had to have it. It does well on one coat but i applied two coats. It lasted quite a while with a top coat too.
Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Wearing Eyeliner, 997 Orchidée.
I absolutely love this pencil so much. In fact, i may well have to go out and buy another before they’re gone. It’s such a beautiful pink based purple shade. No shimmer or glitter but high impact colour.I always buy Chanel limited edition stylo yeux pencils because they come up with great colours; the eyeliner stays on the waterline the whole day. It will fade slightly over 8 hours; however, it has great staying power overall.
My only gripe with this pencil is, it’s four pound more expensive than any of their other stylo pencils. Can anyone tell me why?
Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow, 147 Caroube.
I bought one of these last year in Moon River and love it so much. They are a ‘no fuss’ easy way to apply eyeshadow. They have a cooling effect when applied and blend out fairly easily before they set, (you have to work quickly with this shade in particular) and stay put the whole day. No primer required.
This is a gorgeous bronze brown with micro golden, green and pink shimmer. A lot like the Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows have in them.
I wanted the pink shade as well but, when i swatched it next to my Illusion D’Ombre Abstraction, (see right) it was far too similar, so i decided to pass. The purple shade is the same shade as the Stylo Orchidée and i am considering it.
Soleil Tan de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid, Sunkissed.
A bit of a cheat because i actually bought this three years ago; however, because it has been re-promoted in this collection, i thought it was still a good idea to review it.
This is a lovely liquid high impact golden glowy highlighter. Ideal for the high points of the face and especially when you have a tan. It does set in place, so it will not move around and it leaves a beautiful glow.
Another fantastic use for it is, to mix a drop in with foundation, especially the Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation. It just adds a gorgeous highlighting glow. A very versatile product to own.
There you have it, my picks from the Chanel Mediterranée summer collection 2015. Did you opt for any and what influenced your choices?
Take care and i will see you all soon. 😉
