I am excited about Charlotte Tilbury coming to John Lewis in Liverpool. The counter is gorgeous itself, done in a huge half circle. Easily the largest beauty counter in JL.
Previously, i could only order CT online from Selfridges. With beauty items, i have to try before i buy so, this wasn’t an option for me.
I wanted to buy a few items from CT; however, they had sold out of some products within a couple of days of opening. I will be buying them and reviewing soon)
I will be honest, i am not over awed with all of her products. I did love the Eyes to Mesmerize cream eyeshadows. They are beautiful and the lipsticks are outstanding and if i ever get around to using up the ton of Chanel lippies i have, i will buy some.
So now for my review.
Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencil, Champagne Diamonds.
The reason i picked up this pencil was because, i have a thing about sparkling golds!; It’s in a pencil form (apply and go) and; it’s just so pretty in colour.
The sparkles are chunky but thankfully, they aren’t gritty, so glides smoothly onto the eye. You have to work with this pencil very quickly if you want to blend out because it sets down and stays put. Nice highlighting shade.
Guerlain Gloss D’Enfer, 902 Starry Shimmer Top Coat.
I just adore sparkling lip glosses and Guerlain have brought out the loveliest Holiday collection this year. I bought the holiday météorites recently, (review here) but hadn’t seen this at the time. When i saw this in JL, It just screamed my name.
It has multi-coloured sparkles and is clear. I like that it’s clear so it doesn’t affect the shade of lipstick i wear and i love it over my more matte deeper colours i own. My lips always look that bit fuller when i wear glosses, so i can’t go wrong with them really.
This lip gloss is really beautiful and i’m chuffed i didn’t miss out on it.
Dior Fusion Mono Single Eyeshadow, 631 Blazing.
I have a number of these Fusion mono eyeshadows and coincidentally, they’re all pale in colour. (Comparisons above right)
The Dior State of Gold Holiday Collection is lovely and the two eyeshadow quints on offer, are stunning and very pigmented. I had to say no this time because i own so many quads and quints already. (It’s time to get using them).
I couldn’t pass up on the Fusion Mono eyeshadow 631 Blazing, though.
The consistency of these are lovely and they don’t dry out either. This colour is slightly deeper than the previous ones i own and great all over the lid as a base.
.Bobbi Brown Sequin Single Eyeshadow, Star Beam.
I did buy this a bit on impulse. I’ve been having a complete love affair with BB products for some time now and have loved them all.
I should have thought a little bit more about this one. Reason being, it’s a black eyeshadow with pink/purple glitter. Yes. it’s stunning but i don’t really suit black. I have to use this one very sparingly in the socket.
This shade would make a gorgeous, dramatic smokey eye for someone with green eyes and who can wear black eyeshadows more easily than what i can. There is no problem with the eyeshadow, just me being sucked in by the beautiful marble effect. I do use it with the Violet Ink reviewed below, which makes it look lovely.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner, Violet Ink.
Recently, i bought the ultra precise eye liner by BB and no better way to use this than with cream eye liners.
Violet ink is a gorgeous deep purple shade with ultra micro pink sparkle. It is lovely and makes the sequin eyeshadow work better on my eyes. It doesn’t fade during the day and with the eyeliner brush, i can get a very precise line. BB makes some gorgeous eye lining gel shades and i could buy more quite easily.
That was my little trip to John Lewis, who have just refurbished all their beauty counters and they look WOW! Making me now want to spend even more money. I know i’ll be back in there when i get paid again.
Take care and i will see you all soon. 😉
