I have been really liking some newness from Dior lately. I think Peter Philips may have something to do with this. His input must now have a strong influence in the new collections coming through from Dior.
I decided to split my posts into two halves rather than having one very long, wordy single post. Part 1 is here.
Here are my thoughts on the rest of my Dior haul.
Dior Addict Hydra Gel Core Mirror Shine Lipstick, 976 Be Dior.
I really like Dior Addict Lipsticks. They are very similar to Chanel’s Rouge Coco shine lipsticks, which i also enjoy wearing.
They are very moisturizing and pigmented, giving a shiny gloss-like finish to the lips, only with much more pigmentation.
The gel core is new to the Dior line. It has the logo CD in the gel formula, running through the centre of the tube to give extra care to the lips. The packaging is also new with a magnet to keep the lipstick closed.
Above right; After using a few times, you can still see the gel core CD running through the centre.
I look forward to trying this gorgeous blue based, deep magenta shade and will keep you informed of its quality and longevity.
Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow Spectacular Effects and Long Wear, 658 Cosmopolite.
I liked the previous wet and dry mono eyeshadows and own two shades here and here. The new ones however, are just so much more dramatic and have high shine to them. The ones i like anyway.
Cosmopolite stood out straight away for me and is exceptionally pigmented, even when dry. It is a lovely brown shade with plenty of silver micro shimmer to it.
I have yet to try it out both wet and dry and can’t wait to see the effects.
Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Hydra Plumping Volume Lip Gloss, 643 Everdior.
My Oh! My! Am i in love with the new Ultra Gloss shades from Dior. Seriously, i could buy every single one if i had the funds. If only!
Above left; Ultra Dior Gloss in packaging; middle, in direct sunlight and; right, in LED lighting.
It was so hard to choose just one and this one is gorgeous. A sparkling coral/pink shade. Wears very well over Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick, Coco. Or any orange based red shade.
I love lipsticks in general; however, come summer time, i fall head over heels for lip glosses and ones with multi shimmer too. They reflect off the sunlight so well and give lips a more plumped effect.
This new formula certainly is mildly lip plumping and without the same effect as the lip maximizer, which tingles. It also smooths the lips too.
The formula is quite wet and not sticky in any way. The downside to this is, it doesn’t have great longevity if you eat or drink. I do prefer the stickiness and thicker formula of Chanel lip glosses for its longevity; however, i love the shades that Dior produce and the packaging has the edge over Chanel packaging. I also like the brush applicator rather than a doe foot.
I will keep you updated on how i get on with the eyeshadow and lipstick as i use them. I am normally very happy with Dior products though.
Take care and i will see you all soon 😉
