Chanel Haul……………….Holiday Numero 2. In The Red!

Hi Everyone,
Well, i haven’t really got into the Chanel Holiday Collections for the past two years. Just not the colours for me and the collection lacks that special holiday feeling that was present in previous holiday collections.

Anyway, the one thing that I really like from this years Libre Numero Rouges holiday collection are; the Rouge Allure lipsticks.
All lipsticks in the collection are numbered 1-4 and number 2 is my favourite.

Number one has a very pink base. Number 3 is a blue-based true red and; number 4 has an orange undertone, which i don’t wear well.
Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour No 2.
I really like this one because it is a cool toned raspberry red with a slight blue/purple undertone that shows in low light. It is a more wearable colour for people who have slightly yellow teeth, like myself.

Red is such a hard colour to wear anyway. Why make it harder than it needs to be?
The Rouge Allure lipstick is the best formula from Chanel. Saturated with colour and staying power and comes in beautiful click top packaging. They don’t cost a ridiculous price and are smooth and creamy. The matte is no exception. Chanel brought out the ‘comfortable matte’ lipstick a number of years ago and all the rest have followed suit.

Luminous and non-drying, they make even older lips like mine look great.
I also love this LE red packaging for the holiday season. Once the lipstick has finished, you can transfer the red top to any other Rouge Allure lipsticks you own. This is a real winner for me in the collection.
What i love especially about Chanel lipsticks is, they never transfer onto my teeth whereas; other high end brands do.
(Below are some comparisons with other red lipsticks i own. No 2 is very similar to Audacieuse and Romantic. Both are also Rouge Allure lipsticks).

Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadow. 806 Terre Brûlée.
The next thing i bought was; this wonderful Ombre Première eyeshadow.

Terre Brûlée is a highly pigmented warm copper shade which makes blue eyes pop. I do own other shades of copper from other brands but they are all different in tone.

I had been wanting this one for quite some time because i own Undertone, (Ombre Première) and; Rouge Brûlée, (new Illusion D’Ombre); other colours in this range and i love them so much.

(Above; Comparisons with some other copper eyeshadows i own. Tigre has pink sparkles and a pink undertone to it. Copperfield is a cooler tone and both shades from the quads are browner in tone. Météore is high in glitter and far less pigmented).
These eyeshadows are nothing like the original Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows, (although i like them too). They are more of a cream eyeshadow that do not dry and are without the glitter. They are very well pigmented and do not crease in the eye socket at all. Very multi-faceted in colour and just blend out beautifully and i’m so happy i bought this one.
(Below left; Fluffy wants some expensive lunch and right; just a typical Sunday in my back garden, taking photo’s of my arm. What must the neighbours think ?!!)

There you have it. My Chanel picks for the holiday season. Not much money spent there compared with other years.
Take care and i will see you all soon. 😉

I bought the No. 1 LOL but now I need your No. 2 !!! I tell ya – its an addiction 🙂 Has the Chanel Lion highlighter arrived on sale in the UK? Its not here and I am not sure if we will get this but its got the red top case like they did last year with the flower highlighter for Xmas. Not sure if I will get it but its lovely to see these things you look at in “real life” …. the internet makes everything so tempting ! Oh ….. nearly forgot – I bought the new Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Aqua foundation and I love it ! Its great on the days when you do not feel like a full coverage – especially with summer coming on but just be careful with the colour range – try it on your face before you buy as the colour I thought would be good was too pale but the O2N Clair Light was just perfect for me! So if you are tempted – try the foundation on the face – it was really different on my hand!

Yes i have the Aqua Lingerie de Peau too. The lion highlighters are going to the boutiques in the UK only or online but not in major shops which really surprises me because there is no highlighter in their holiday collection this year. Very odd and not well thought out.
I’m not liking this Lucia Pica , whatever her name is. She isn’t coming up with anything special at all.Not dymamic enough for me and it shows how fantastic Peter Philips really was because i look at Dior more and more.
Her collections are all very samy. Red lipsticks all the time. I’m not impressed. It used to be that i couldn’t wait to spend all my money on Chanel holiday collections and now, well i bought one thing as you can see and that was because of the packaging.
Another blogger suggested i might have Chanel fatiuge but that has nothing to do with it. At least i still love the perfume range. Lets hope next year produces something special and no, i am not sure about that 9 shadow palette either, although it has taken them 5 years to develop.
Anyway, rant over lol. I probably own too many products and don’t need much more.

Yes …… that is it ! No special tempting Xmas things at Chanel !!! At least Dior put out makeup items that had that Xmas spirit but I liked to look at them but they were not for me – tooooo shiney . Mmmm maybe I am suffering from ALL makeup fatiuge ?? Noooo ….. if something took my fancy I would buy it but ….there is not one collection from any brand this year that has my juices flowing and my purse opening! Still – like you said we probably have too many products and this is a sign from the Makeup Gods 🙂
