I’m sorry this post is a little late in the day however, it has given me time to use the products i bought and i can give a more thorough review as a result.
I recently picked up a couple of items from the Le Mat de Chanel Fall collection 2018. I did like the clair obscurs eyeshadow quad but i don’t wear eyeshadows for work so i cannot justify buying them.
The products i did pick up, i can wear and they have been getting thorough use over the last few weeks. They are:
Fard À Joues Contraste Poudre Blush, 440 Quintessence
I also love Chanel blush. I have many. They haven’t lost their colour or pigment over the years. The fragrance of roses disappears after a few months, if you have concerns about the fragrance. This blush is a gorgeous pink. Matte but not flat.
The pink is a light tone with a warmth to it. Matte with a touch of satin. It offers a lovely warm, natural glow. Not heavily pigmented and blends out a dream.
Left to right below; Quintessence and then;
64 Pink Explosion is much cooler and brighter in pink with silver micro glitter.
68 Rose Écrin is also warm in tone but has a high sheen and is a beige/pink. Probably one of my all time favourites from Chanel.
86 Discrèction is a warm pale candy pink with pink/golden microshimmers.
72 Rose Initiale is a deeper pink with golden microshimmers.
64 Inspiration (Cream Blush) is the closest match because it is deeper in shade but has a similar matte finish.
It is different enough to justify owning it and i do like the matte finish. Very beautiful. If you have plenty of pink blushers then, maybe it isn’t really worth the investment but i am addicted to Chanel blushers and pinks, especially.
Stylo Ombre Et Contour Eyeshadow Liner Khôl, 12 Contour Claire.
This is the first eyeliner Chanel have released that is quite unique, in quite a long time.
The eyeliner/contour stick is thicker than the Chanel stylo yeux and is not designed to wear in the waterline. It is a khol stick which twists up and doesn’t come with any sharpener.
The great thing about this khol pencil is, it does actually set within a minute, unlike a traditional Khol.
The colour is a cool ash toned brown. Not too exciting to look at; however, very universal and it goes well with many of my eyeshadows which are both matte and shimmer. (It does remind me of an eyebrow pencil in tone).
I like that you can apply quickly and go. Great for work. If you want to have a fine precise line, this is not the liner for you. There are 2 other shades available in the matte range and i think there are 5/6 in the satin range.
For me, this liner has it all. Great pigment, doesn’t fade or smudge once set, no fragrance and gives a nice finish. Simple and quick.
The only other eyeliner i own i can compare this with is, the Chanel Stylo Yeux Long Lasting waterproof eyeliner, 932 Mat Taupe. This has a touch of copper tone in it. (Right)
I love Chanel blushers and even though I didn’t need yet another pink blush, i had to have it.
The contour eyeliner is a must if you don’t own any others like it and you want to get ready in a hurry but still wear a touch of makeup without glitter or shimmer. There are a few shades to choose from in both matte and satin finishes.
Thats it folks. Take care and i will see you all soon 😉
