I’m really happy that Chanel finally brought online shopping to its European customers. This has only been available in the last couple of years or so.
It allows access to exclusive products which are available in their boutique stores but aren’t available on the high street.
One such product; available online, in the UK but not in store is, Vitalumière Glow Luminous Touch cushion Foundation. This is a fairly recent addition to the Vitalumière range of foundations.
I use the Vitalumière Aqua liquid foundation all the time and love it. It is a constant re-purchase. So when i was taking a look at the Chanel website, i came across the cushion.
I went to a couple of Chanel counters to enquire about it and no one seemed to know a thing so, I went back online and it was marked as an exclusive. I usually don’t buy makeup blind but i took the plunge.
I opted for the shade 30. This is usually fairly warm on my skin and i also buy 20 for the winter months of the liquid foundation.
I opened the packaging and thoughtI had bought the wrong shade. It looked dark.
I wanted to give it a go anyway because, there is no sending it back once its been opened. To my surprise, it was the perfect shade and didn’t appear dark on the skin at all. FYI! 30 is the darkest shade available.
I know Chanel did a general release of the Les Beiges Cushion Foundation however; i found that the liquid Les Beiges didn’t really give my skin much luminosity. I also couldn’t match the shade to my skin tone. 20 was too pale and 30 too dark.
I have combination skin with a touch of oiliness down my t-zone. My complexion has large pores, and redness on my cheeks and around my nose, uneven, textured skin around my mouth and; fine lines. I do need concealer with every foundation i use.
First of all, I thought i would try it with a buffing brush. (This is how i usually apply my foundation). It didn’t work out. The finish was dull and matte looking.

I then applied it with the puff and patted it onto my skin. The result was luminous with an even finish.
I was surprised about the light/medium coverage it also gave, which is buildable. I pressed the puff into the product about four times to cover my entire face. Someone with near perfect skin, might only need 2/3 dips.
I used a concealer under my eyes and around the bottom of my nose and chin; as per usual, but other than that, I was good to go. No need to add a translucent powder. There was no residue left on the skin because it dries immediately.

My Initial Thoughts.
There was an even, slightly air brushed filtered finish. My complexion looks super healthy and luminous without looking greasy. A very natural look.
The great thing about this foundation and; why you get only half the amount of product compared with a liquid foundation (14ml) is; you hardly have any on your skin at all. This means no settling of any kind into any lines; no caking, no accentuating the pores. In fact; it feels like you have nothing on the skin.
There was no oxidation and It never became apparent that i was wearing a foundation. It just acts as a veil. Thats how i perceive it. Most of the time with liquid foundation, i have slight darkness and patchiness towards the end of 7/8 hours.
I did note that it took maybe two mintues to apply because of the patting and i probably won’t be wearing it for work because of this. (I’m like a bat out of hell in the morning).

General daily use and nights out, it’s a, ‘must do’.
I have only used it once and will give an update later on if my opinion changes.
Obviously, i don’t know how long the 14mls will last compared to other foundations, (30ml). This is the first cushion foundation i have owned and Judging by how much i used to cover my entire face, i’m going to get some significant use out of it.

I think this is fantastic for maturing skin like my own and skin free of blemishes.
It is great for giving a blurred, slightly airbrushed effect.
A real innovation and a great addition to the Vitalumière family of foundations.
Sometimes, i wonder why i review Chanel products because they are usually perfection anyway. I should just write a one sentence post. Buy it! You’ll love it! That’s it! 🙂
Take care and i will see you all soon. 😉
