As mentioned in part one of this two part instalment; here, I generally do not do tag posts as a rule unless they are worth doing and i like this one.
In part one i did my face products. In part two i will concentrate on eyes and lips. If i did this in one post it would have become quite lengthy and i know i don’t read posts that go on and on.
So with that said, lets get stuck in to my used and abused eye and lip products.
Chanel Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil, 30 Brun Naturel.
Its the only eyebrow pencil that actually matches my natural brow. I have re-purchased this 3 times and am half way through the third one now. It blends out lovely and stays once its set. Just lovely and not that expensive for Chanel either. Below left swatch; Chanel Brun Naturel and right is MAC Dirty Blonde.
MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme. Dirty Blonde.
I do like MAC’s Dirty Blond and have the brow gel in this, it is slightly lighter than my natural brow colour and i still also use this when i want a slightly lighter brow. Another lovely product that is quite effortless. Even though i have put a dent in this, it will probably still last me another year or so.
I love cream eyeshadows more and more as i’m getting older. They are very flattering to more maturing eyes. I also have a couple of my many powder eyeshadows that i am making a bit of a dent in to show you.
This is just a snap shot of my eyeshadows. I use many more.
Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow 97 New Moon.
I don’t care what anyone says, these two Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows i’m about to show you beat all of the new Ombre Premiere eyeshadows just released. They are so unique.
New moon is just a gorgeous brown/gold/pink eyeshadow that works well as a topper because of the high amount of glitter in this one. It is a very unique shade that is stunning in fact; Chanel released this one twice as LE because it was so popular. That has to be a first. Don’t get me wrong, i do like the new eyeshadows, they just aren’t unique or ground breaking in any way. Below swatches left; Illusion D’Ombre New Moon, Centre; Illusion D’Ombre Diapason, Right; Bobbi Brown Beach Bronze.
Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow, 92 Diapason.
Never have i ever used an eyeshadow more beautiful than this one. Chanel need to replicate it again. It is a stunning purple with teal and pink micro shimmer. A very flattering long wear eyeshadow that works well on its own and paired with brown and pink shades.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow, 16 Beach Bronze.
My all time favourite eyeshadow from BB. A lovely shade of deep brown with hints of golden micro shimmer that works with nearly every other eyeshadow i own and believe me, that is many. Very creamy, easy to blend and once set, doesn’t budge all day. I have seriously dented this one.
Onto my powder eyeshadows.
Chanel Les Ombres 4 Eyeshadow Palette. 16 Murano.
One of my favourite all time palettes in the baked formula from Chanel. I love teal and it works well with my blue/grey eyes.
It is a shade very rarely found in eyeshadow palettes although, Chanel have released an updated version of this in the Chanel Diaries Fall Collection 2017. The new formula is superior in the quads, very pigmented and Road Movie (with teals) is matte. Below left are Chanel quad swatches and right; Guerlain Copperfield swatch.
Guerlain Écrin 1 Coleur Long Lasting Eyeshadow, Silky Powder, 05 Copperfield.
A gorgeous warm copper toned eyeshadow that again is really nice on blue, hazel and brown eyes. This formula is very nice on my crepey eyes too. Guerlain do great products and are such an underated company in some respects.
Dior Lash Maximizer 3D.
A base product that curls and separates eye lashes. I have been using and abusing this for the past couple of years now and i’m on my fourth tube.
Dior Extase Mascara.
I can’t tell you how many times i have purchased this mascara. I have been using it for close to a decade if not more. It makes my lashes long, thick and curl. No clumps and my all time favourite mascara. So you can imagine how i felt when Dior decided to discontinue it. Grrrrr!
Dior have replaced it with the Pump N’ Volume reviewed here. It is growing on me and i get a lot of nice comments when i use it. It is 4ml less product for a pound more in money though. Yes, i did notice Dior!
Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner, 987 Or Blanc.
I could name every single Chanel Stylo Yeux in this post but i better not, lol. This one is great and because it was LE, (no surprises there)! I bought two.
It works great at brightening the inner corner of the eye and in the waterline, to give the illusion of a larger eye. A wonderful white with golden shimmer.
Dior Addict Lacquer Stick Lipstick, 570 L.A. Pink.
Seriously! The most stunning everyday shade of dusky pink i have ever worn. This particular one is so comfortable and creamy on the lips with a high amount of pigmentation. I can’t stop wearing it. Its almost out and i’m about to buy my next one, just a couple of months after their release. Full review here.
Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss Lipstick, 18 Séduction.
This is my second one and luckily, i bought another because guess what? Its another one that Chanel have discontinued. How ridiculous!
Its a gorgeous glossy and high shine lipstick. Not a gloss to put over lipstick. It is very pigmented. In a shade of raspberry pink/red. Very wearable and lasts ages on the lips too. I will miss it.
Below swatches left; Dior Addict Lacquer L.A Pink; centre, Chanel Rouge Allure 18 Séduction and right; Dior Ultra Gloss 643 Ever Dior.
Dior Addict Ultra Gloss, 643 Ever Dior.
My most favourite lip gloss shade. A lovely coral with golden shimmer. I love shimmery glosses in the summer because they look great when they catch the light. This formula isn’t sticky either. Cannot do without this one. Best get another becfore this is discontinued too.
That’s it. I think it was hard to whittle down the lips and eye products hence, why i did two posts. Which are your most used and abused products? Take care and i will see you all soon. 😉
